Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025?

July often brings long days, warm weather, and (hopefully) a bit of a slower pace—but it’s also a powerful opportunity to pause, reflect, and check in with your mental and emotional well-being.

In the busyness of life, it’s easy to just keep going, without noticing how full your “stress bucket” might be getting.

What’s a Stress Bucket—and Is Yours Overflowing?

One of the most useful metaphors I use in hypnotherapy is the “stress bucket.”

Imagine every demand, worry, or pressure you face—no matter how small—dripping into a bucket inside your mind. These might be things like lack of sleep, work stress, social obligations, overthinking, or simply dealing with life’s curveballs.

If your bucket gets too full and there’s no outlet, it overflows, and that’s when we may feel overwhelmed, anxious, irritable, or even stuck.

Summer Stress Isn’t Always Obvious!

On the surface, summer can seem like a time to relax. But even sunny months bring their own hidden stressors—travel planning, childcare challenges, social commitments, heatwaves, disrupted routines, and a pressure to “make the most of it.”

That’s why this month at Your Best Mind, I’m inviting you to try a Mid-Year Mind Reset and explore some gentle ways to empty that bucket before it spills.

💡 Your July Reset Tools: The 3 Ps

In solution-focused hypnotherapy, we talk a lot about The Three Ps—simple but powerful ways to naturally reduce stress and improve emotional balance:

🌱 Positive Action

Move your body, get outside, tidy a corner of your space, or do one thing that gives you a sense of progress.

👥 Positive Interaction

Connect with someone you trust. A genuine conversation, a walk with a friend, or even a kind message can lift your mood.

💭 Positive Thoughts

Focus on what’s going well, however small. Remind yourself of your strengths, your progress, or moments of calm in your day.

These small steps don’t just make us feel better in the moment—they help the brain shift from survival mode to a calmer, more resourceful state.

✨ Reflect: What Will You Let Go Of—and What Will You Invite In?

Halfway through the year is the perfect time to reset your focus.

Take a quiet moment to ask yourself:

What thoughts, habits, or patterns do I want to release for the rest of the year?

What strengths, intentions, or experiences do I want to welcome in?

You don’t need a big life overhaul. Often, it’s small shifts in awareness that lead to meaningful change.
